Lubricants

Wire Rope and Cable are made up of many types of steel and alloys and are generally found to have a core covered with several strands of wire rope. Wire rope is designed by class defined by the number of strands around the core and the wires per strand. The amount of lubricant to be used on a given wire rope or cable depends primarily on the rope diameter but also to some extent the internal wire rope coating that can be allowed between the strands and the core. Further the amount of lubricant thickness desired around the wire rope and cable itself also is a factor.
